QLD Tour Summary: On playing in Cathedrals.

Our QLD tour took us from Cairns to Brisbane: Cairns and Townsville with good audiences; A good combined church event in the Whitsundays followed by a day out on the water with reef whales and sun galore; Mackay and Rockhampton were really hard going with promotion but we were happy with the turnout as a start in those places. a great turnout in Maryborough; Nice to get back to Goodlife on the Sunshine coast with a very enthusiastic audience there; but Brisbane, ah, St. John'sCathedral. It was my idea, after doing great Cathedral gigs in Holland and one in Hobart. But St Johns in Brisbane is one enormous stone cave with vaulted stone ceiling, stone walls and stone floor. I counted a 7 second reverb which meant that one note blendedinto another making the sound an incoherent disharmonic mess. It was ambiece beyond anthing I have heard. It was sold out with over 550 present. A number of people aid they liked the ambience and of course it was visually amazing. Hmmm. Stuart and Brian said the sound was a gigantic mess. Oh well, you live and learn. Great to visit Southport Church of Christ again on the last Sunday. We Introduced psalm 94 on this tour. It's very intense. I feel like it leaves the audience a little shocked every time we play it.
